Jerónimo García-Mejía

About me

I will be moving to the University of Warwick to be a Research Fellow working in Ric Wade’s team. I am a Postdoctoral research associate at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford working in Ric Wade’s team.

I completed my PhD at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany under the supervision of Claudio Llosa Isenrich. Before that I did my Master’s at the University of Bonn where I wrote my master’s thesis under the supervision of Ursula Hamenstädt. I obtained my Bachelor’s at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

Research interests

My research lies at the intersection of Group Theory, Geometric Topology, and Geometry, placing it within the area of Geometric Group Theory. I am interested in filling functions of groups, in particular their Dehn functions, nilpotent groups and their quasi-isometry classification, and automorphism groups of non-positively curved groups, including right-angled Artin groups.

I wrote a short text about Dehn functions and one of my recent projects aimed at a large mathematical audience. This can be found here.
